You've probably seen Meta's new AI agent, Muse, popping up all over the place. There's an event running right now: sign up, enter an invite code, and both of you get 1 billion tokens.
So today let's go over what Muse is, how to get the tokens, and what to know about availability outside the US.
I'll share my invite code too (one code can invite only up to 30 people, so by the time you read this it may already be full).
✦ The offer in one card
What you get when an invite code is registered
First, what Muse is. Muse is a personal AI agent Meta launched in the US on September 8. It has also been available in Canada since September 18.
It's less a chatbot that just answers questions and more something that does the work for you.
It runs on its own virtual computer and can handle research, web browsing, document writing, automation, and code execution. It works on iPhone and Android apps, the website, and WhatsApp.
✦ Muse's three plans
Monthly price and weekly token limit
| Free $0 ~100M (reported) per week | Power $20 / month 500M per week | Max $100 / month 3B per week |
There are three plans. Free is reported to give you about 100 million tokens a week (Meta has not published a fixed official figure), Power is $20 a month for 500 million a week, and Max is $100 a month for 3 billion a week.
Signing up requires a payment card plus location and age verification.
One thing worth noting is the safeguards. Muse works by accessing your accounts, like email and calendar, so it's described as having a protection layer that asks for your approval on important actions.
Still, Meta runs the service, so how much to hand over is up to you.
For reference, the model behind Muse is Muse Spark. It's also available through a developer API, reported at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens.
✦ How big is 1 billion tokens?
Plan limits are weekly; the invite bonus is a one-time amount
| Free limit (weekly) 100M | Power limit (weekly) 500M |
| Invite bonus 1B | Max limit (weekly) 3B |
A quick note on tokens. They're the unit AI uses to read and write text. The more you use, the more get consumed. Think of them as your usage balance.
There's no official conversion for how much work 1 billion tokens buys. But since the free weekly limit is reported to be about 100 million, even a simple comparison makes it 10 weeks' worth.
If you've used apps like Codex, Claude Code, or Hermes Agent, you'll know what an enormous amount 1 billion tokens is.
✦ Getting the 1 billion tokens, step by step
Four steps from signup to payout
| 1 | Sign up with a Meta account (on the web, log in with a phone number) |
| 2 | Open the settings menu within 48 hours of signing up |
| 3 | Enter the code in the invite code field and press register |
| 4 | The inviter and the new member each get 1 billion tokens |
Now the part you're most curious about: how to get the 1 billion tokens. The condition is simple.
When a new member registers an inviter's code, the inviter and the new member each get 1 billion tokens.
You only get them if the code is registered. Installing the app or signing up alone won't do it.
The code has to be registered in the settings menu within 48 hours of signing up. The menu item is something like "Register invite code," though the label may vary by screen.
One person can invite up to 30 people, up to 30 billion tokens, as announced, but the numbers shown on your account may differ, so check for yourself.
Here's the whole sequence in one go. First, sign up with a Meta account on the Muse website or app. On the web, you reportedly log in with a phone number.
Once you've signed up, go to the settings menu before 48 hours pass, enter the code in the invite code field, and press register.
Then both the inviter and the new member receive 1 billion tokens. Check your account screen to confirm.
✦ My invite code
The code and the rules that come with it
My invite code is VNV5XD. Since I'm the inviter, I get 1 billion tokens too when you use this code. We both get them.
If my code is full and won't go in, there's a site where other people have shared lots of invite codes. It's in Korean, but you can try the codes there one by one.
This site seems to be a commercial one where individuals upload and share codes, and it doesn't guarantee a code is still valid.
Requesting or posting a code there requires email verification, so enter only the personal info you need.
I have no connection to this site. I'm only pointing it out for reference. Without a code, you can't get the 1 billion tokens, after all.
✦ Where Muse is available
Worth knowing before you try to sign up
One more thing: Muse launched in the US, and sign-up may be restricted in countries outside it.
It isn't officially available everywhere, so signing up or using the service outside supported regions can be limited.
✦ Is Muse for you?
If you're wondering whether to sign up in a hurry
So who is a service like this for? It suits people who do research, create documents, and need repetitive work automated.
If you only need answers to questions, the AI you already use is enough, so there's no need to rush. But since the tokens are free through this event, it's a low-pressure chance for anyone curious to try.
It should help especially if you handle lots of miscellaneous tasks on a Mac or smartphone. (I hear a Windows desktop app hasn't launched yet.)
✦ Three checks before you sign up
The easy-to-miss ones
| Event terms and dates | Read the notice shown in the app when you sign up |
| Account permissions | Allow only what you really need |
| Entering the code | In settings, within 48 hours of signing up |
Lastly, a few things to know. Event terms and duration can change, so check the notice shown in the app when you sign up.
Muse handles tasks by connecting to account permissions like email and calendar, so it's safer to allow permissions and app connections only as much as you need.
To sum up: Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, and when you register an invite code, the inviter and the new member each get 1 billion tokens.
Muse launched in the US, and sign-up may be restricted outside it.
Well then, shall we begin today's adventure?
